I'd probably use DA more if I didn't have trouble loading my inbox, or if I actually had art to contribute. Nowadays, I can usually be found on Steam or Skype, just look for mr-bigmouth-502 on the former, or mr_bigmouth_502 on the latter. My privacy settings are kinda tight though, so don't be alarmed if I don't answer your friend requests at first. Anyway, I'm not leaving DA, nor do I ever plan on it, but right now I'm just sort of going through a dry spell of inactivity on here.

Don't underestimate the power of making a fuss
So I learned recently that DA finally listened to criticism about opting people into AI learning by default, and decided to opt people out instead. While it's sad to see gaps in my favorites from the people who've decided to delete their galleries, it goes to show that raising a fuss can get get shit done sometimes.

I'm kinda disappointed with DA's decision to opt people's work in for AI learning by default, and I can't find the option that supposedly exists to opt out in the mobile app, but I also don't plan on leaving the site over it or deleting my admittedly crappy work. Since I'm recovering from gallbladder removal surgery right now, I've been using my phone a lot more than my PC, since it's hard for me to use a PC while laying in bed. Thankfully, the browser I use allows me to use sites in desktop mode, so if I can remember to do it, I'm gonna try logging into my account that way so that I can activate the opt out option, if that option even exists... I know that a lot of artists have been deleting their work from the site over this debacle, and I can't really blame them. It is admittedly sad to see some gaps in my favorites though. I really wish DA would reverse their decision to opt people's work in for AI learning, or at the very least make it easier to opt out. I've been a fan of this site for years, and have met some of my closest friends because of it, but it's been on a noticeable downward spiral, and I think this is going to be the final nail in its coffin unless DA makes a concerted effort to take a different path. I know the Eclipse update turned a lot of people off from DA, and the increased visibility offered by other platforms caused artists to focus more on those instead. Those things didn't finish DA, but this likely will.

Fuck the last 10 years of my life. Fuck the last 10 years in general. I miss the late 2000s, and select parts of the early 2010s. I wish my parents never started dating people I fucking despised after they broke up. I wish GamerGate, the alt-right, and Trump's election never happened, and in turn never sparked the godawful culture war that's fucking ruined everything. I wish the internet never got taken over by smartphone-wielding idiots and the big-name social media platforms they prefer. I wish we would've dealt with COVID intelligently instead of letting it fester into something we'll probably never eradicate, all thanks to fucking braindead antivaxxers and antimaskers who have turned science denial into a political statement. I wish I could go back to being the naive, blissfully-ignorant teenager I was so long ago, in the somewhat less-crazy world I used to inhabit. I really hope DA stays afloat longer. I'm about half way to where you're at ATM. I can comment and reply but my submission activities that require real work has taken a dive. Honestly, if I had a couple weeks where I wasn't in troubleshooting mode then I'd probably be doing more. Between the ISP, router, and now my wifi on Win10 having/showing issues suddenly (could also be the result of the router/ISP) I wonder if anything will change 
I'd add you on Steam but TBH I don't think there is a single MP game I use anymore lol. Unless chatting is enough of a reason for a friend request?
